Kate Hudson hit the 2025 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony red carpet in Santa Monica on Saturday, and while the look may ring a few déjà vu bells, sometimes familiarity just feels right—especially when it’s this sparkly.
Wearing an off-the-shoulder tulle gown from Elie Saab’s ‘1001 Seasons of Elie Saab’ Haute Couture collection, embroidered with silver and gold sequins, Kate gave us a look that was equal parts ethereal goddess and red carpet veteran who knows exactly what works for her. Have we seen this kind of look from Elie Saab before? Absolutely. Have we seen Kate in glittering gold gowns more times than we can count? Definitely. Do we still love it? You bet.
What makes this outing feel so satisfying is the nostalgic nod to her own red carpet legacy. Gold gowns have always been part of Kate Hudson’s sparkle-studded fashion journey, and this one adds another shimmering chapter to that story. There’s something comforting—and chic—about her leaning into what she does best.
Gold jewellery by EFFY Jewelry and Promise by EFFY elevated the look, while her swept-back tresses added a modern, romantic softness.
It’s classic Kate with a couture twist—and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
