Menswear on the red carpet can sometimes feel like a revolving door of safe black suits, but this week, we’ve seen some exciting risks, fresh proportions, and even a welcome revival of a once-ubiquitous trend.
The Amateur London Premiere
Rami Malek has mastered the art of a sharp, structured slim-fit—but never too tight—suit. But this time, he opted for a slightly relaxed silhouette (eased tailoring rather than oversized), and it felt fresh. The Saint Laurent look, designed by Anthony Vaccarello, leans into the brand’s current love affair with looser cuts, and Rami embraced it fully.

But what really made this look sing? The mix of prints. Saint Laurent’s Spring 2025 collection experimented with blending bold patterns and textures, and we see that in play here with the combination of stripes and a Prince of Wales check. It’s a high-fashion move that adds depth without feeling chaotic, and Rami wears it with his signature nonchalant coolness.

Mobland New York Premiere
I have been waiting for a ‘70s-inspired pinstripe moment on this Mobland press tour, and Anson Boon finally delivered. The navy and white pinstripe suit was the definition of old-school gangster chic, channeling the slick, commanding style immortalised in The Godfather and Goodfellas.
But what really sealed the deal? The flower. While Celine’s Monochrom 05 sunglasses gave the look a modern edge, the floral boutonniere was what tied everything together. A perfectly placed flower has long been a mobster staple—it softens the otherwise severe pinstripes while also adding an element of quiet authority. It’s a small detail that carries big impact, and it made the look feel more cinematic.
A TAG Heuer timepiece rounded things out.

Until Dawn WonderCon 2025
I was about to say that the Dolce & Gabbana cropped jacket trend is back, but did it ever really go away? It had a moment in 2024, and while it has been noticeably absent from 2025’s red carpets so far—Belmont Cameli just brought it back in the best way.
His Dolce & Gabbana cropped Prince of Wales brown wool jacket hit just the right note. Unlike the ultra-cropped versions from last year that practically required a cummerbund for balance, this one either sits slightly longer or is paired with higher-waisted trousers. The effect? Sleek, refined, and a masterclass in subtly reintroducing a trend.
Belmont’s look proves that a trend revival works best when it’s slightly evolved—rather than a direct rehash.
