Rachel Brosnahan joined Caitriona Balfe at The Amateur world premiere at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City on Wednesday, and it’s safe to say the unofficial dress code of the evening was: sheer with a side of edge.
While Rachel’s style has long been a refined mix of classic elegance—often with a retro twist—this look felt like a sharp departure into ultra-modern territory. Dressed in a Saint Laurent Resort 2025 leather belted jacket paired with a sheer black skirt, she exuded an effortless cool that we recently saw in shades of brown on Zoe Saldana. But in all-black? The look packed even more of a punch.
A style shift like this can take some getting used to, but honestly? I’m completely sold. Rachel has always radiated confidence on the red carpet, and this look only amplifies that. The structured leather jacket adds an air of control and authority, which feels like a subtle nod to the intensity of The Amateur, an action thriller about espionage and revenge. Meanwhile, the sheer skirt brings a sensual, almost mysterious quality—exactly the kind of intrigue you’d expect from a film in this genre.
With Anita Ko and Rainbow K jewels providing just the right amount of sparkle, this ensemble strikes the perfect balance between powerful and provocative. If this is the new era of Rachel Brosnahan’s style, I’m absolutely here for it.
