Serena Williams was honoured at the TIME100 Gala, and rightfully so. Her influence now stretches far beyond tennis – she’s a powerhouse businesswoman, a devoted mum, and a fearless advocate for equity and representation.
She arrived wearing a black off-the-shoulder Stella McCartney Spring 2025 dress that had all the makings of a sleek, modern moment. The silhouette was sharp, the fabric draped beautifully and brought a whisper of drama. On paper, it all sounds fabulous.
But then came the styling.
The sheer gloves and the De Beers diamond necklace took this into muddled territory. The dress was saying minimalist cool, but the accessories were flirting with Gatsby’s ghost – and not in a way that felt cohesive. It was like two different Pinterest boards got merged into one look.
Remove the gloves, ditch the necklace, and you’ve got a strong, contemporary statement.
