Zoe Saldana brown Schiaparelli Fall 2025 off-the-shoulder dress 2025 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony

Usually, after a gruelling awards season run, celebrities vanish into well-earned obscurity for a while—sometimes for months, sometimes for years (think Renée Zellweger). But not Zoe Saldana. With Avatar: Fire and Ash on the horizon, she’s in full promo mode, and her appearance at the 2025 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in Santa Monica on Saturday was not just appropriate—it was perfection. After all, both the film and the event celebrate transformation, innovation, and pushing the limits of the known universe.

And what better designer to align with those themes than Schiaparelli? While the brand can sometimes give off heavy sci-fi vibes (hello, Demi Moore at the Critics’ Choice Awards), Zoe’s Fall 2025 off-the-shoulder dark taupe dress was more exquisite than extraterrestrial.

Zoe does have tattoos (including that iconic tribal-inspired design on her upper back), the rose on her chest? Pure Schiaparelli trompe l’oeil magic, painted onto an illusion tulle bodysuit with precision so flawless it had me doing a double take. As someone mildly obsessed with illusion panels, I can confirm—this was masterfully done.

The only thing slightly disrupting the transmission? The black shoes. Underwhelming, considering the runway version had a bit more flair. But even that couldn’t dim the brilliance of this look.
