Let’s hear it for primary colors! Anne Hathaway is currently in France for the Cannes Film Festival to support her new movie Armageddon Time, which was selected to compete for the coveted Palme d’Or prize at this year’s event. And on third day of the festival, on May 19, the actor brought out a colorful matching set that deserves its own award.
The brocade-like pattern features primary red, blue, and yellow flowers with green accents, with silver sequins threaded throughout the entire outfit. Hathaway has been stepping out a lot lately in bold and colorful looks over the past few months as she promotes her various projects—namely, her Apple TV+ series, We Crashed.
For the Cannes Film Festival, she continues in that spirit in this matching patterned cropped jacket and wide-leg trousers. The cut of the jacket billows to show the structured top of the pants that are fitted to her without breaking away from the alignment of the design. Sequin embellishments, and no doubt hours and hours of needlework, make this outfit a work of art.
Heels are needed for pants as long as these, and Hathaway chose a pair of black-and-silver stiletto sandals for the look. To further highlight the metallic details in her outfit, her handbag is a small light-gold piece by Bvlgari Serpenti. A large yellow stone ring and oversized sunglasses complete the look.
