Spring has sprung at the New York Botanical Gardens
Oscar de la Renta never fails to amaze us with his floral designs, and this year was no different. The bridal designer always delivers elegant and refined pieces, while still leaving room for a sense of playfulness in his designs. The Pre-Spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection is here and it is the floral dream we’ve been waiting for.
As an ode to the beauty of nature that surrounds us, Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia explore the textural and visual contrasts in the botanical world. Inspired by the 16th-century botanist and horticulturist, Doctor Charles de l’Ecluse, The New York Botanical Garden serves as the creative landscape of the collection.
The collection is full of vivid colors such as tanzanite, daffodil, hyacinth, and amaranth which are inspired by the beauty of the late designer’s vacation home in the Dominican Republic. Bright floral prints and textures throughout the collection capture the bold playfulness of wildlife.
Tule and chiffon dresses create flowing silhouettes that drape the body along with removable sleeves for adaptability. Combining craftsmanship and modernity, cutouts, appliques, and hand beading add elegance and attention to detail that the bridal brand is known for. Each piece uniquely reflects the astounding beauty of nature and reminds us of its playful spirit. Available now at OscardelaRenta.com, the collection is a perfect addition to any spring wardrobe.
