“Don’t mix silver and gold jewelry” is one of the basic rules of style, but like so many rules, it’s made to be broken. Case in point: Kate Beckinsale, who shimmered in a metallic silver dress accented with gold heels and diamond earrings.
The Serendipity star received the best actress award at Britain’s National Film Awards for her performance in the movie Jolt; she won the honor in 2021 too, for Farming. And she must have taken note of last year’s statue because this year she came dressed to match. The starburst detailing in the center of her gown is similar to the angles and pattern of the award itself, which is also metallic silver and gold. And maybe we’re overthinking, but does the maroon color of her nails reflect the cherry wood at the statue’s base? Let’s go with yes.

If you want to shine just as bright, the gown is from designer Julien MacDonald, who has dressed other stars like Kourtney Kardashian and Beyoncé in his signature beaded materials. And yes, he’s the guy behind Paris Hilton’s iconic disco ball 21st-birthday dress.

The only thing more A-list than matching your award? Going to an awards show and borrowing a garment from another star…like Beckinsale did when she got chilly at the Oscars and Jason Momoa stepped in to offer her his jacket, sparking dating rumors. It all ended up being much ado about nothing (an early Beckinsale joint you should check out, actually), but snuggling up inside Jason Momoa’s roomy jacket…it just sounds cozy as can be.
A few years ago, Beckinsale had a fling with Hollywood’s favorite flirter, Pete Davidson, though she revealed that whatever they did wasn’t dating…since she’s never been on a real date. Yeah, ’cause she’s too busy collecting metal while wearing metal.
