Kirby Howell-Baptiste attended ‘The Sandman’ world premiere held at BFI Southbank on Wednesday (August 3) in London, alongside her co-star Gwendoline Christie.
When I saw Kirby in this Viktor & Rolf Spring 2022 Haute Couture gown, it instantly made sense why Sienna Miller opted to keep things simple on this red carpet, as there was no keeping up with the dramatic looks that the stars of this film were serving up on this red carpet.
The British actress presented a very “unorthodox” silhouette which I love for both the ingenuity of the design, and how design was realised.
I have a feeling that there will be a mixed feelings with regards to this corseted gown, but I love how it’s on theme with the fantasy drama she is promoting.
I’m sure many of you wondered if this collection would see the light of day on the red carpet.
I honestly only expected to see this on Lady Gaga or limited to editorials.
We are always craving something other than sheer and cut-out dresses, and this it is; perfectly marrying old Hollywood with a fantastical element which Kirby sold to me from the hair, to the makeup, to the dress, to the styling.
This was executed perfectly in my opinion. What do you think?
