On Wednesday, August 10, the actor was spotted in L.A. with her signature length styled in what appeared to be effortless beach waves accented by sun-kissed highlights. The style was a fitting complement to her romantic floral tiered dress, while her bright yellow nails added an unexpected touch.
While low-maintenance bobs have arguably been the summer’s MVP style—seen most recently on actor Aubrey Plaza—loose beauty waves would be their lifetime-achievement counterpart, as in they never go out of style. But instead of big, bouncy barrel curls, celebrities are opting for the “half-wave” hairstyle this season, which essentially mixes loose effortless texture with flat roots for a modern vibe, like Vergara.
“The half wave is laid-back glam at its best,” Jason Collier, A-list hairstylist and Bblonde brand educator, told Glamour UK earlier this summer. “It mixes in straight and wavy sections to keep hair multidimensional, a little mussy, and a lot cooler,” he said. “The half wave consists of a straight root, with a loose wave from the eye lid, or ear lobe, with loose, relaxed ends,” he explains.
