Laverne Cox Channeled Madonna and Cone Bra on the Emmys Red Carpet

Although Laverne Cox didn’t win the titular role in the Madonna biopic, she’s still the Material Girl in my heart. 

The Inventing Anna actor wore a dramatic Jean Paul Gaultier mini dress on the 2022 Emmys red carpet, complete with exaggerated hip padding and swirling boob cones—a silhouette associated both with the French design house and Madonna. The rest of her outfit was simple: sheer, black tights and pointed-toe pumps helped keep all eyes on her silver zippered dress. For glam, Cox wore her hair in a long ponytail and kept her makeup slightly sultry, yet understated.
