Prada’s invite-only music project emphasized the avant-garde energy of the city’s vibrant Latin community and their unique relationship to electronic music.

As Prada Extends winds across the globe in a series of live events created with and curated by British-Canadian electronic musician Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman, the concept finally landed itself on December 1st on the sandy shores of the season’s most coveted cultural event, Miami Art Basel. Harnessing the power of music as a segway to collectiveness, Prada’s invite-only music project enlivened the innovative and avant-garde energy of the city’s vibrant Latin community, and their pioneering adoption and championing of new music genres.

“Prada Extends Miami ‘is the third chapter of our creative incubator, bringing like- minded musicians and visual artists together in a night of beautiful aesthetics and frequencies. Prada Extends Miami focuses on the bridge that Miami has always created between the Latin community and their early adoption and innovation in electronic music. The event took place perfectly in the surroundings of Art Basel, further emphasizing the strong connection between fashion, music and art,” shared Richie Hawtin.

Presented in the Faena Forum, devised by Alan Faena and OMA located in the energetic landscape of Miami, the third installment epitomized a constant, fundamental exchange between creative universes. Hawtin curated a line-up to reflect the powerful link between Miami as always represented between the Latin community and electronic music, selecting a broad range of electronic-influenced artists.
