If there’s one person who has successfully experimented with her hair this year, it’s Lily James. Once a committed brunette with a midlength hairstyle, she has tried, in the past 12 months alone, bombshell blonde, copper red, and even jet-black micro bangs for a Versace campaign. (Granted that last one was a wig.)
Now that she’s refusing to get stuck in a rut, hairwise, James has tried yet another fresh look just in time for Christmas. After seeing her go-to hairstylist, John MacPherson (who looks after both her cut and color), she showed off a collarbone-skimming copper bob with some subtle and effortless curtain bangs. The perfect way to draw attention to her eyes.
A great example of how to do curtain bangs without going full-on ’70s in style, Lily James’s new fringe is long, graduates slowly into the rest of her style, and is mostly set off her face. The result: excellent face-framing detail in a chic long bob.
