Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan was not nearly as spicy as many fans had hoped, and in fact retread much of the same ground that the couple had already spoken about publicly. However, according to the Times UK, Prince Harry’s forthcoming memoir, Spare, will be “more inflammatory” than the docuseries.
According to the outlet, the book will cover Prince Harry’s upbringing, and Buckingham Palace is “bracing itself for what he might have to say about his stepmother, the Queen.” Harry will also give two promotional interviews ahead of the January 10 release of Spare, the first with ITV’s Tom Bradby and the second with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Buckingham Palace has not provided an official statement following Harry & Meghan, but sources close to the royals say that the family is paranoid and that there is “there is no trust left” when it comes to Harry and Meghan, per Entertainment Tonight, and are worried about what is coming in Harry’s memoir. The source told ET that “everyone remains wary,” and another source told the outlet that some members of the family are “angry” about what was shown or said in the Netflix docuseries, and are frustrated that they can’t say anything about it.
Some tabloids suggest that the family even has plans for retaliation. The Mirror reports that King Charles III is waiting until after Spare is published to decide if Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie and Lilibet, will get to keep their HRH titles, and if Harry and Meghan get to keep their titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. As the grandchildren of the king, Archie and Lilibet have a right to those titles, but King Charles could take them away. Of course, tabloids have a tendency to stretch the truth, so we’re taking this one with a grain of salt.
