Maternity fashion queen Blake Lively was struggling to fit into some clothes while pregnant, so she invented a creative way to solve the problem: She wore a dress and a skirt at the same time.
The 35-year-old actor, who is expecting her fourth child with husband Ryan Reynolds, posted about her wardrobe dilemma on her Instagram Story on Sunday, January 8. “When the back of your skirt won’t zip and the front of your dress won’t button, wear both,” Lively wrote in the Story. “Who says two wrongs don’t make a right??”
In the photo, Lively wears a black and white polka dot shirtdress buttoned only at the bust, styled over a black maxi skirt which she’s hiked up to cover her bump. The famously self-styled actor added a white pearl necklace (to match the polka dots, no doubt) and pink heels to finish off the look.
She kept her glam unfussy, opting to wear her long blonde hair in simple side-parted waves.
Lively announced the pending arrival of her fourth child in September 2022 when she arrived at the Forbes Women in Power Summit in New York City showing off her bump underneath a shimmery gold minidress. She’s since posted about her pregnancy a few times on Instagram, in classic Blake Lively form—that is, with humor.
“Something isn’t working,” she captioned recent side-by-side photos of herself with her trainer, Don Saladino. In the first pic, she appears slim, while in the second, she’s heavily pregnant.
Reynolds and Lively married in 2012 after they started dating in 2011. The couple has three daughters: James, Inez, and Betty.
