It’s the age of brides (finally) letting their bridesmaids pick their own dresses, and oh boy, are we taking advantage of it. Brands are dropping hot bridesmaid dresses left and right—we can’t even keep up. As someone who likes to look good at weddings (I mean, my future partner could be there, OK?!), I recognize the importance of finding a bridesmaid dress that makes me look good—just, like, not as good as the bride, because that’d be rude. Luckily for all of us, there are plus-size bridesmaid dresses just waiting to look sexy on you.
OK, I just want to get real for a second. I’ve always hated shopping for formal dresses because a) half the time they don’t fit or the brand doesn’t have my size and b) I’m super self-conscious about my arms. So, sleeveless dresses have always been automatically out for me. That’s left me with, what?—maybe three dresses to choose from.
But I’m officially deeming 2023 the year we all embrace our insecurities and wear something we think is hot, but might not have tried before. For me, that means sleeveless dresses. Whatever it means for you, I encourage you to go forth this year and wear your clothes with confidence!
That being said (LOL, sorry not sorry about my rant), I’ve found nine cute plus-size bridesmaid dresses that we all should be proud to rock during wedding seasons. Curve Batwing Twist Front Midi Skater Dress
The flowy sleeves on this dress give its simple silhouette a high-fashion twist. This shade of blue will be very popular at weddings in 2023 but this dress can be worn for any other special occasion too.

Logan Velvet Dress
This gown from Jenny Yoo is stunning because it is so simple and timeless. I am such a fan of the fabric in particular, though—Velvet is always so luxe-feeling, no matter the season. Plus, this marigold color will look amazing on so many different skin tones and it goes up a size 26.

Cali Satin Charmeuse Midi Dress
You can’t go wrong with a satin midi dress if you’re in the wedding party. That’s why I love this gown from BHLDN. It comes in 15 (!) different colors and is available up a size 26. What’s better than a dress that can do it all?

Winslow Dress
Whether the bride is looking for a green color scheme or lets you lean into florals, this long dress will be a showstopper. Reformation can do no wrong when it comes to their plus-size collection, but their dresses are especially good. It might be worth adding a few of their sustainable frocks to your collection.

If your friend’s wedding is on the trendier side, consider wearing a one-shoulder gown, like this violet-hued dress from Mac Duggal. The floral shoulder detailing is channeling some seriously romantic energy. Yes, it’s pricey—but it’s so worth it. This one is available up to a size 20.

Bet you didn’t even consider looking at David’s Bridal for a chic bridesmaid dress! This strapless dress comes in over 18 colors and goes up a size 30. I personally love this mustard shade because It even works for spring or winter weddings (props to you for planning in advance!)

My Whole Heart Dark Navy Blue Long Sleeve Wrap Dress
Let’s hear it for bridesmaids’ dresses that you can totally wear again, like this navy pick from Lulu’s. It a) retails for under $80 and b) is available in sizes up to a 3X, so feel free to get your shop on.
