Grammy-winning singer Doja Cat pulled off another eye-catching and unique look for this year’s Grammy Awards, wearing an inky Atelier Versace gown with a dramatic latex train.
On February 5, the 27-year-old artist was giving elegant dominatrix in a twisted one-shoulder dress that perfectly accentuated her figure and topped off the look with matching opera gloves. While this may seem tame compared to some prior Doja Cat ensembles, she kept the drama with an uber-short cropped pixie cut and dramatic winged eyeliner to contrast her no-brow aesthetic.
What did you expect from Doja Cat? A column gown and some pearls? Though primarily a musician, the artist has proven herself to be quite the fashionista, and by that we don’t mean cute outfits. We mean avant-garde lewks. She turned heads at Paris Fashion Week when she covered every inch of herself in red and crystals. Makeup artist Pat McGrath praised her commitment to beauty, saying, “Her patience and dedication as she sat with Team Pat McGrath and I for four hours and 58 minutes to achieve the creation, covered in over 30,000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals, was truly inspiring.”
After a few commenters pointed out her lack of eyelashes, she used fake lashes all over her face the very next day. Definition of a chameleon.
At this year’s Grammys, Doja’s “Woman” is up for both record of the year and best solo pop performance, and the “Woman” video is nominated as well. She’s also up for best rap performance for “Vegas,” and her song with Post Malone, “I Like You (a Happier Song)” is being recognized for best duo.
