Mackenyu attended the premiere of ‘Knights Of The Zodiac’ held at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Wednesday (May 10) in Los Angeles, California.
There was a time when people believed that athleisure and streetwear trends had killed off the allure of a suit, but what we have witnessed over the years on the red carpet, is that all the stuffiness and formality has been knocked out of it, as tailoring has adapted to the modern world.
And we’re not referring to contrasting colours, patterns or materials, more terms of construction techniques, softer shoulders, wrap silhouettes, oversized lapels, draped capes and now we can add cut-out peak lapels to the list.
Mackenyu’s Fendi Fall 2023 dove grey suit is the embodiment of how the suit is constantly being reinvented, and I’m looking forward to seeing just how much more creative designers can be with the once humble suit.
Hopefully the one-shoulder mens shirt will get a runout on the red carpet too.
