Greta Gerwig joined Margot Robbie at the 2023 Gotham Awards held at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday (November 27) in New York City, where they both picked up awards for ‘Barbie.’
Aside from the ‘Barbie’ film being one of the highest grossing films of 2023, and giving us an amazing promo tour, it also gave us a completely different side to Greta’s director style.
Recent history informed us that female directors would only wear suits, because, you know, suits meant that we would take their role more seriously.
Rebecca Hall thankfully bucked that trend for ‘Passing,’ and Greta followed suit (pun unintended) for ‘Barbie.’
From the modernity to the semi-sheerness of her Brandon Maxwell Spring 2024 look, I have to say this was completely unexpected, but hugely welcomed.
I don’t think we’ve seen this side to Greta style since (checks her style file), well, ever.
She looks like the boss that she is, even if I’m not completely sold on the black clutch.
If you’re having a case of déjà vu, it’s because Brie Larson wore a look from this collection which featured the same silver accented belt.
