In a video from her visit, you can see Meghan Markle reading a book about buttons, helping the kids keep track of a simple addition and subtraction problem, and even leading a sing-along.
For the occasion, Markle chose an Oscar de la Renta silk shirt dress with a watercolor floral motif on the skirt. She left her long, dark hair down and parted in the middle and wore delicate black flats with a strap around the ankle. Even with a mask on, she was animated, and smiled for photos with her eyes. Tyra would be so proud!
Markle is herself the author of one children’s book, The Bench, which started as a poem she wrote for her husband Prince Harry on Father’s Day. She recorded a video of herself reading the book for the YouTube channel Brightly Storytime, if you’re in the mood to ponder the many expressions of love between fathers and sons. Meghan and Harry share two children: son Archie and daughter Lilibet.
