Tory Burch dressed two celebrities for the 2024 Met Gala on Monday.
I’m not sure if you have noticed, but Bruna Marquezine has been wearing a lot of Tory Burch lately, and she also appears to have shelved the bold colours which were her signature.
This custom pale blush corset featuring a multi-layered hoop skirt is her most ethereal look yet.
With the abundance of hand-cut silk flowers scattered at the hem this look was subtly on theme.
Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany brooches and a Tiffany Cocktail watch completed her look.
Styled by Dani Michelle.
Uma Thurman’s shoulders stole the spotlight so much, that her Tory Burch custom blue silk taffeta gown became secondary to the butterflies floating down her back.
Tory Burch was inspired by an extinct butterfly, the American Xerces Blue as its magnificent iridescent wings reminded her of Uma’s eyes.
Styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.
Tory Burch blossomed on the red carpet, but you may be surprised to learn that this isn’t her own design.
The designer wore a custom dress from Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen Spring 2018 collection which she first wore to her wedding back in November 2018.
Considering the ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ theme, sustainability, the silk wildflowers, and deconstructed corset, I’m not surprised that Tory didn’t design a gown especially for this event, when an event appropriate dress was sitting in her closet.
