The Vogue World: Paris 2024 event held at Place Vendome on Sunday was a star-studded affair, with notable attendees gracing the red carpet in their most striking looks joining Joey King, Diane Kruger, Fan Bingbing, Anitta and Cara Delevingne who led the charge.
Alex Scott delved into fashion archives to find her Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2009 black shirt dress adorned with bondage belts. Though the choice was bold, it felt somewhat sombre for the season and her personal style, overwhelming her petite frame. Perhaps higher platforms or a taller figure would have done the outfit more justice.
Alexa Chung brought a breath of summer romance to the event in a Viktor & Rolf mixed media dress from the Fall 2005 collection. The dress, inspired by a rose garden, encapsulated glamour, provocative couture, and unexpected elegance, fitting perfectly with the season’s vibe.
Boucheron jewels and red patent leather pumps completed her look.

Anna Wintour, ever the consummate hostess, wore a Chanel Spring 2024 Haute Couture dress featuring groundbreaking florals, tailored to her exact specifications.
Ashley Park made a bold statement in a Rahul Mishra mauve and silver embroidered bow bodysuit from the Fall 2023 Couture collection. She completed the look with Giuseppe Zanotti platforms.

Aurora James showcased her own Brother Vellies sandals, which complemented the bohemian essence of her Chloé Fall 2024 outfit.
Wearing a skin-tight Burc Akyol Fall 2024 gloved turtleneck dress might be bringing some of us out in heat hives, but you can’t deny how beautiful Becky G looks.

Christina Milian opted for an Alexis Mabille Fall 2024 velvet navy gown, which seemed more suited for autumn. While the dress was elegant – and perfectly suited for Dita von Tesse – it didn’t quite suit her, aging her beyond her years. A piece from the Balmain Spring 2024 collection would have been a better fit.

Eva Longoria looked stunning in an Alexandre Vauthier black sleeveless crystal-embroidered gown from the Spring 2021 collection. While the dress was understated and elegant, did she need to do more to stand out on this red carpet?

Léna Mahfouf wore a Helsa The Amber scarf dress transformed into a hooded gown. The look had potential to be one of my favourites, but it needed tailoring to perfect the length.
Maria Sharapova chose a Schiaparelli cotton look featuring signature Measuring Tape embroidery. She wisely avoided the brand’s golden brass toe shoes, but I’m not sure this shoe worked with the outfit either.
Mia Regan wore a stunning Pierre Cardin archive piece which still possesses futuristic codes. However, she’s not really selling this look to me especially when it comes to the hair. It’s too limp for a look like this. A simple low bun would have improved things greatly.

Mona Patel, who came to our attention from the Met Gala, brought soft sculptural elegance in Stéphane Rolland Spring 2021 Haute Couture gown, maintaining her reputation for sophisticated style.
Natalia Vodianova also stepped into the archives, donning a Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2006 strapless gown embroidered with red and silver Swarovski crystals. While the red velvet band might have been tempting to remove, the goldthread and beaded laurel leaf embroidery added richness to the look.

Finally, Normani’s Coach leather coat is likely to raise eyebrows given the summer setting. One can only hope she had fans built into the coat, as it seemed an overly warm choice for a summer afternoon.
