Bella Hadid was sleek and sexy at the Met Gala in a custom look from Burberry. The supermodel walked the carpet solo. She previously attended with then-boyfriend The Weeknd, but her current relationship isn’t one for big events (she’s been quietly dating art director Marc Kalman for over a year).
This year’s theme is “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” the second part of last year’s theme, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” The distinction between these two themes is probably obvious to fashion people, but they look identical to me…much like the two belts!
Designed by Riccardo Tisci for Burberry, Bella’s look included a custom corset, lace leggings, a chiffon skirt, and a chiffon shawl. The look was styled with a romantic updo and, my favorite detail, an anklet of pearls.
Burberry is a London-based brand but we won’t hold that against Hadid; what is America if not a spin on Britain?
Though she looked gorgeous, we were just a tad disappointed she didn’t go full cowgirl. That Woody from Toy Story ensemble she stepped out in a few weeks ago was so fun!
