Willa Fitzgerald stepped onto the red carpet for the ‘Strange Darling’ New York premiere at LOOK Dine-In Cinemas W57th, and while her choice of a Louis Vuitton black perforated leather dress certainly caught my attention, it didn’t quite deliver the impact I was hoping for.
Let’s be honest—a black perforated leather dress from Louis Vuitton is always going to be a tough sell. It’s edgy, it’s bold, and it requires a certain level of finesse to pull off.
Unfortunately, this look fell flat due to one simple reason: the styling. While I understand the impulse to let a statement dress do all the talking, it needed more support from the accessories, hair, and makeup to really shine.
The black Louis Vuitton pumps, while safe, felt too predictable, almost like an afterthought. They did nothing to elevate the look, instead blending into the background. The hair and makeup, though polished, also lacked the necessary drama or creativity to complement such a daring dress.
Sometimes, when you opt for a dress like this, everything else has to be on par to make the outfit work. In this case, the simplicity of the styling didn’t do the dress justice, leaving me underwhelmed by what could have been a standout moment for Willa.
