Zoe Kravitz has long been a beacon of effortless cool on the red carpet, known for her minimalistic, edgy style that exudes confidence. However, last nights appearance at the London premiere of ‘Blink Twice’ at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square left me, for once, a little underwhelmed.
Saint Laurent has been a frequent collaborator in Zoe’s sartorial journey, often providing her with the sleek, black ensembles that have become her signature. So, it was refreshing to see her step outside that familiar territory and embrace a look that wasn’t drenched in noir. Unfortunately, this departure didn’t quite hit the mark.
While I applaud her for experimenting with colour, the top lacked the polish I’ve come to expect from her. It looked somewhat cheap and ill-fitting, a surprising misstep given her usual precision in selecting pieces that flatter her frame and align with her aesthetic.
The skirt, on the other hand, was the saving grace of the outfit as it allowed her to maintain a semblance of the chic minimalism that she’s known for. Paired with stunning Jessica McCormack jewels, there were elements of the look that worked.
While this might be a rare miss for Zoe, it certainly doesn’t dampen my admiration for her fashion sense.
Let’s chalk this one up to a bold experiment that didn’t quite land and look forward to seeing her next red carpet moment, where I’m sure she’ll be back to her impeccably stylish self.
