The London premiere of ‘Lee’ at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on Tuesday saw Kate Winslet, Andrea Riseborough, and Noémie Merlant gracing the red carpet, where each actress brought her unique style to the event, showcasing a range of looks that reflected both their personalities.
A Masterclass in Timeless Elegance
Kate Winslet, often hailed as the original red carpet recycler, once again demonstrated her impeccable taste by opting for a Jenny Packham Serenade bead-embellished gown. While the dress may evoke a sense of déjà vu, it’s more about the silhouette than the specific design. Kate has always chosen red carpet looks that flatter her figure, and this gown is no exception. The beadwork and elegant cut emphasized her timeless style, proving that she knows exactly what works for her. Some might compare it to the McQueen gown she wore to the NYFF Wonder Wheel event, but the familiarity only reinforces Kate’s consistent ability to choose pieces that enhance her natural elegance.

Embracing Romance and Gothic Glamour
Andrea Riseborough turned heads in a Dior grey embroidered silk coat from the Resort 2025 Highland collection, styled over a khaki silk bustier dress. Some might argue that the grey wasn’t the most flattering colour choice, but I would counter that Andrea is precisely the right actress to pull off this look. The romantic, renaissance-inspired coat, paired with the structured Dior belt, bag, and shoes, exuded a blend of gothic glamour and old-world romance that felt perfectly suited to her ethereal presence. Dior Fine Jewellery completed her look, but the I kinda wish she had worn the runway choker.
Subtle Sophistication Over Runway Drama
Noémie Merlant opted for a black silk butterfly sleeve dress from Louis Vuitton’s Resort 2025 collection, choosing a more understated version over the runway’s silver-embellished option. Some might wonder if she played it too safe, but I believe she made the right call. The simpler black version, paired with knee-high leather boots, offered a sophisticated and polished look that felt true to Noémie’s style. The runway version, while striking, would have been a difficult look to pull off—even for someone like Jennifer Connelly. Noémie’s choice reflects a nuanced understanding of what works best for her, embracing elegance over drama.
