Kendall Jenner is officially in her blonde era, kicking off the fall season with a chic new shade of old money blonde.
The Kardashians star debuted her dramatic transformation with a photo carousel on Instagram, which she captioned “blonded,” tagging her hair colorist Jenna Perry and stylist Jessica Gillin, who does haircuts and extensions at Perry’s eponymous Jenna Perry Hair Studio in Manhattan.
If that name sounds familiar, that’s because Perry—and her salon—are practically royalty when it comes to A-list hair color. The NYC-based colorist’s clients include Emily Ratajkowski, for whom she created “glazed amber” red hair, Bella Hadid, Camila Morrone, Kaia Gerber, Chloë Sevigny, Karlie Kloss, and more.
Much like EmRata’s dramatic metamorphosis, Jenner’s brunette to blonde transformation was no easy feat. In fact, according to Perry’s Instagram story, where she re-shared Jenner’s post, the colorist seemed to hint that it took multiple sessions over a couple of days: “What I was up to for the past two days,” Perry captioned the post. She later re-shared Jenner’s post to her grid with the hashtag #NYCBlonde.
While a stark change for longtime brunette Kendall Jenner, the elegant new shade of old money blonde is right on trend. In fact, Chase Kusero, cofounder of IGK Hair Care, recently told Glamour that golden and warm shades of blonde are taking over salons this season.
It’s no surprise expensive-looking blonde shades are on track for blowing up this fall. “I love a nice buttery blonde that gives a healthy old money look,” Kusero says of the trending look.
