I had to close the brand roundups from the 2022 Met Gala with Valentino, who dressed Glenn Close, Jenna Ortega, Sebastian Stan, Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn Beckham, Paul Mescal, and Conan Gray.
Or should I be more specific and say the Valentino Pink PP collection (for the majority).
I still love this Valentino Pink PP collection, and I’m sure we’re going to see more of it during the 12 days of the upcoming 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
I know a number of you are hoping to see the back of this collection, but how could you not love Glenn Close who looked majestic wearing this custom Valentino look for the embroidered cape alone?
Factor in the way she is theatrically selling this, with the gloves, shoes and clutch - all in Pink PP – and you have to admit this was one of the most dramatic looks of the night.
It’s just a shame about the creases.
Pink PP and embellishments?
Jenna Ortega was a girl after my own heart channelling a ’60s vibe wearing this tunic shirt with flower applications styled with pink tights and platforms to match.
Newlyweds Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz were guests of Valentino.
Nicola got the PP Pink memo, but Brooklyn decided not to do the matchy matchy Posh and Becks thing by wearing a Valentino Haute Couture look from the Spring 2022 collection which he styled with Valentino Garavani sneakers.
On this occasion, I’m more enamoured by his suit (the fabric mainly), as Nicola didn’t sell her gown to me.
Sebastian Stan was a winter soldier wearing a Valentino Fall-Winter 2022 Pink PP sporty look that was not on theme, but was one of the rare menswear looks that didn’t come in black.
Speaking of men in black, Paul Mescal wore a custom Valentino Couture tuxedo accented with a flower.
I’m sure your eyes fell straight to Conan Gray’s Valentino Garavani platform white boots, but I’m celebrating the creativity of his custom Valentino embellished look which had a rock and roll edge that was perfect for the musician.
