Dressing two of Hollywood’s well-dressed celebrities, the designer proved that even without his signature flourishes, his creations can still make a powerful statement.
A Velvet Vision
Allison Janney looked beautiful wearing a Gaurav Gupta Spring 2024 Couture velvet core gown that was a lesson in understated elegance with a touch of boldness. The deep velvet fabric exuded old-Hollywood glamour, but the striking agni orange shell detail reminded us of Gaurav Gupta’s avant-garde aesthetic, proving that even when he tones down his signature sculptural details, his designs still leave an impression. The juxtaposition of textures and colours made this gown a standout on the red carpet.
Fiametta jewels and Roger Vivier Viv’ Choc strass platform sandals completed her look. And yes, I do think Allison’s look works better with the opera gloves.
