Taraji P. Henson was among the honourees at the 2024 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday evening in New York City alongside Pamela Anderson

When it comes to the actress’ style, I love when she gives us high glamour with an edge, drama and plenty of attitude, and on this occasion Taraji didn’t disappoint in her Schiaparelli Fall 2024 ensemble.

I was mesmerised by how the black velvet high-collared top with dramatic, floor-length panels gave the look a sense of movement and grandeur, as I was intrigued by the velvet pencil skirt which was held in place by a gold chain.

Taraji looked flawless in terms of glam, from her makeup to the way she effortlessly carried the ensemble.

One of the more daring elements of the outfit was the underboob. While this detail added to the boldness of the look, it was clear that mobility might have been an issue—hopefully, she didn’t need to lift her arms much beyond the 45 degrees required to receive her award.

The Schiaparelli trompe-l’œil golden toe heels have been, quite frankly, overplayed, as their whimsical appeal has long started to wane, but in this instance, they worked beautifully.

The gold accents in her heels, her manicure, statement earrings, and the chain on the dress all harmonised, creating a cohesive look that Taraji’s carried off effortlessly. While the heels have perhaps lost their novelty, Taraji managed to make them feel, somewhat, fresh.
