James Norton attends Joy - Headline Gala London Film Festival

This week’s menswear moments from the red carpets, mostly from the London Film Festival, delivered a refreshing mix of bold choices and timeless classics. Here’s a breakdown of who wore what and why it worked (or didn’t).

Joy Headline Gala

James Norton brought an unexpected pop of colour to the ‘Joy’ premiere, stepping out in a yellow suit from Emporio Armani’s Spring 2025 collection.

I know what you are thinking but hear me out. The slightly dishevelled look felt effortlessly charming. Who else agrees?

Styled with a crisp white shirt, navy necktie, and black leather boots this was a departure from the typical tailoring we see on the red carpet, but that’s exactly why I loved it. The yellow added an element of surprise.

The Wild Robot Premiere

Pedro Pascal’s petrol green Zegna suit was a masterclass in refined flair. The panelled jacket from Zegna’s Spring 2025 collection added subtle detail, but the tonal teal v-neck shirt truly sold the look. Pedro struck the perfect balance between relaxed and elegant.

IDA Gala of the Stars

After declaring that I was kinda over the Dolce & Gabbana cropped jacket, Jeremy Pope made me rethink everything. His velvet jacket, paired with a sheer turtleneck and cinched with a silk cummerbund, breathed fresh life into a done-to-death trend. I’m in awe, and I have to admit I spoke too soon—Jeremy’s look was undeniably fresh.

The Apprentice Headline Gala

Sebastian Stan returned to mixing tones, this time with a light brown peak-lapel oblique jacket from Dior Men’s Fall 2024 collection. Paired with dark brown wool pants and a pink shirt, the combination was sleek and refreshing. The Cartier watch and cufflinks added just the right amount of polish. Pink and brown are an underrated duo, and Sebastian made it work beautifully.

Jeremy Strong embraced a trio of hues in his deep olive velvet Brioni jacket, paired with a beige knit and navy trousers. The colour palette was rich and perfectly seasonal, offering a more understated yet equally striking red carpet moment.

Kyle Gallner made a contemporary statement in a white cropped collarless blazer from Saaf Garments. The minimalist design allowed the sharp silhouette to stand out, making this one of the more modern, understated looks of the week.

Nickel Boys London Screening

Ethan Herisse brought one of the most unique looks of the week to the ‘Nickel Boys’ screening. I don’t know what part of his Dior Men’s Fall 2024 look to admire most. The silver silk top with floral embroidery, or the burgundy wool pants that included an integrated scarf belt that acted like a train. Confident and bold, this was a standout look.

Those eagle-eyed among you would have instantly guessed that Isaac Powell was wearing Givenchy, thanks to the shawl monogram lapel and matching monogram trousers. The white cotton tank top adds a laid-back touch, while black Mr G loafers perfectly complete the ensemble.

Eunwoo Cha channeled some serious Clark Kent vibes in a Saint Laurent cashmere suit. Between the hairstyle, ‘90s-inspired wide trousers, striped tie, and Saint Laurent SL 753 optical glasses, the superhero resemblance was hard to miss. He completed the look with Saint Laurent Jean patent leather shoes.

Emilia Pérez London Screening

Rami Malek typically sticks to black, but for this event, he opted for a bold-shouldered, grey striped Saint Laurent suit. Styled with Saint Laurent Vassili boots and Cartier jewelry, Rami brought a structured elegance to the red carpet that felt fresh and timeless.

Jack Farthing embraced jewel tones in a magenta red silk shirt and tie, which popped beautifully against his navy blue Saint Laurent suit. His black Saint Laurent Adrien shoes rounded out the look, making for a sophisticated, colour-rich ensemble.
