Kirsten Dunst at the Fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala

Sabato de Sarno brought his Gucci magic to the 2024 Academy Museum Gala, dressing the evening’s honouree, Paul Mescal, alongside Kirsten Dunst, Taylor Zakhar Perez, and Dwyane Wade. Each look was distinctly tailored, reflecting the individual style of its wearer, yet all united by Gucci’s signature flair.

The Year Of Brown

Starting with Kirsten Dunst, the actress made an unexpected yet stunning choice in the colour of the year: brown. She graced the red carpet in a custom, floor-length Gucci crêpe sablé gown from the Spring 2025 collection. With its single sleeve and cape detail accented by metal bamboo on the shoulder, the gown offered drama from the front.

But it was the sultry open back that stole the spotlight, as most of the photos focused on this striking feature.

Sleek & Sophisticated

The last time we saw Taylor Zakhar Perez in Gucci, he wore a brown monogrammed suit to the 2024 Emmy Awards. This time opted for a more classic look in this single-breasted Gucci tuxedo which was sleek and sophisticated, grounded by the straightest bow-tie I’ve ever seen. He completed his ensemble with a Tiffany & Co. Union Square 30 mm Mechanical watch, Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Sixteen Stone and Tiffany T True Wide rings, and Christian Louboutin Chickito W Flat shoes, keeping the accessories just as polished as the suit.

Honorable Honouree

Paul Mescal, the Vantage Award winner, continued the evening’s elegance in a custom Gucci double-breasted tuxedo. He elevated the classic tux with a twist, pairing it with a white draped shirt—proving that even humble shirts are being reinvented in modern tailoring: see Eddie Redmayne’s sailor collar shirt from last week. A Cartier Juste un Clou pin on his satin lapel, along with a Tank Louis Cartier watch and Trinity de Cartier ring completed his look.

Accessories On Point

And then there was Dwyane Wade, who never misses when it comes to style. He donned a Gucci double-breasted tuxedo, accented with a silver Round Interlocking G button detail. Dwyane’s attention to detail continued with a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany brooch, a Tiffany Eternity watch, and T1 earrings, ensuring his look was as meticulously curated as it was dapper.
