Samuel L. Jackson attends The Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) hosted an enchanting evening in collaboration with Chanel to celebrate the life and work of the legendary Samuel L. Jackson. Honouring his influence in film, this 16th annual Film Benefit saw tributes from icons like Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, Walton Goggins, and LaTanya Richardson Jackson, while the event wrapped up with a dazzling performance by Nigerian singer TEMS, introduced by actress Danielle Deadwyler.

The evening’s attendees brought their sartorial A-game, embracing Chanel’s sophistication.

The ultimate suave gentleman dressed in classic style, Samuel L. Jackson was the epitome of elegance in a luxe velvet ensemble. Nothing but the smoothest fabric for the smoothest man in Hollywood.

Danielle Deadwyler continues to show her allegiance to textured Chanel looks in an ecru Fall 2024 fantasy silk tweed skirt suit. While some might argue that the look borders on cozy bathrobe vibes, the suit’s subtle glitter sheen – which isn’t so visible in these pictures – added a touch of understated glamour.

In an all-black Chanel Fall 2024 ensemble, Amanda Seyfried’s look leaned toward subdued. Whether it was the black backdrop or the minimalist design, it lacked the usual spark that Amanda often brings, leaving me longing for a bit more pizzazz from her. I would have preferred the runway styling if I’m honest.

Dianna Agron delivered the night’s most glamorous moment in a black glitter dress from Chanel’s Resort 2024 collection. Resembling a starlit midnight sky, Dianna’s look was as mesmerizing as it was elegant. She’s been on a roll lately, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Opting for an embellished black lace dress, Phoebe Tonkin brought a fresh twist to classic Chanel. The sheer pocket detail added a modern element, allowing her look to stand out with ease.

Always chic, director Sofia Coppola graced the event in a Chanel Spring 2025 lace dress adorned with silver and golden embroidery, which was lined from the version we saw on the runway. Elegant and understated, Sofia once again showcased her effortless style.

TEMs brought her signature flair to the Fall 2023 Chanel look, layering on Chanel pearls to add a touch of classic glamour that felt quintessentially Chanel.

If there was a strict monochrome dress code, Natasha Lyonne—true to form—put her own spin on it with a black-and-white Chanel Fall 2024 look. This might also explain why Amanda didn’t wear the full runway ensemble. I have to say, the flared shirt suits Natasha better.
