The 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards saw a celebration of both style and service as Michael Kors received the Positive Change Award for his philanthropy at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, presented by Blake Lively.
Blake Lively opted for an unexpectedly subdued look, ditching the florals in favour of sleek, all-white ensemble: a boyfriend blazer, a cotton tank bodysuit, and a sequined sarong-style skirt from the Spring 2025 Michael Kors Collection.
This pared-back choice is perhaps the most restrained we’ve seen from her in a while, which is refreshing, yet still left me wanting more. The Christian Louboutin strass pumps felt mismatched. I feel a silver sandal or simple white heel might have harmonised better. She did show restraint with her accessories, but even so, I think the simplicity of her outfit didn’t need the necklace.
It looks like Blake’s hair stylist may have been paying attention to your comments.
Meghann Fahy embraced an understated yet alluring look in a black dress from the Spring 2025 Michael Kors Collection. The sweetheart neckline and pleated slit skirt created a timeless silhouette, one that felt sultry without the boldness of her lace number from ‘The Perfect Couple’ LA premiere.
At first I thought Olympian Sunisa Lee was wearing a voluminous Mongolian shearling skirt, but it turns out she is wearing a hooded balmacaan with a satin charmeuse and lace slip dress from the Fall 2024 Michael Kors Collection. I was momentarily excited for a more directional look from the designer, but this was a savvy choice for the chilly October night, adding practicality to her luxe look.
Model Mona Tougaard’s illusion lace design from Spring 2025 Michael Kors Collection nailed the illusion lining, a detail I always admire, especially when it complements the wearer’s skin tone perfectly. The raffia fringe amplified my interest in this look.
