We’ve come to expect an elegant, understated look from Laura Haddock on the red carpet, but she surprised us with a bold new direction at the 2024 Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards, held at Claridge’s Hotel in London on Tuesday.
Known for her refined and classic style, Laura took a daring turn with a Nensi Dojaka design—a label famous for bringing boudoir-inspired themes to the red carpet. While this approach might be new for Laura, Nensi Dojaka has long been celebrated for transforming lingerie aesthetics into evening wear, and this dress was no exception.
The gown itself struck a perfect balance between contemporary and sultry, with the pleated point d’esprit fabric and soft pink straps, making this the true statement area of the look. Meanwhile, the dress’s body flowed in a rich burgundy—the season’s colour—which grounded the ensemble, contrasting beautifully with the softness of the upper details.
So, was this a bold choice that paid off? For me, it’s a yes. The dress showcased Laura in a fresh light, but I don’t feel like she abandoned her natural elegance. She embraced the boudoir trend without veering into over-the-top territory.
