Cynthia Erivo stopped by ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, where she chatted about her intense, three-hour-long audition for ‘Wicked’, her first duet with Ariana Grande post-casting, and even took on Fallon’s ‘Musical Genre Challenge.’ With effortless style, she transformed ‘The Sound of Music’ into R&B pop and delivered ‘Dream Girls’ ‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going’ in an opera twist. But it wasn’t just her vocal versatility that stole the spotlight—her outfit was the real scene-stealer.
For her appearance, Cynthia opted for a leather coat from Salon 1884’s Spring 2025 collection. This piece, with its peplum-like pocket design, is inspired by the legendary Giacomo Casanova—an 18th-century icon known for his romantic escapades and scandalous lifestyle. But on Cynthia, the coat takes on a completely different narrative. Paired with a wide-brim hat, she suddenly gives us serious Elphaba energy. If you’re already rolling your eyes at yet another Elphaba reference, buckle up. This ‘Wicked’ press tour is just getting started, and we’re likely in for many more witchy nods between this release and the November 2025 part two release.
Personally, I think she sells the look brilliantly, especially with those carefully selected jewels adding a touch of enchantment. And let’s be real, without the hat, the Christian Louboutin Hot Chick green pumps would’ve still provided a subtle nod to her ‘Wicked’ role. But the hat adds an undeniable flair, transforming the coat into an outfit that reads as both theatrical and chic.
And what is a Cynthia Erivo look without drama?
