Miuccia Prada had a major presence at the 2024 Governors Awards on Sunday, dressing five celebrities in looks that showcased the brand’s signature mix of modernity and classic sophistication.
Close, But Not Quite
Mikey Madison is undoubtedly our one-to-watch, and her red double-satin Prada gown with a bandeau neckline had so much potential. The bold balloon skirt gave the look a dramatic edge, but sadly, the gown’s length undermined its effectiveness. A slightly shorter hemline would have avoided the dents and made this a contender for her best look of the year. Even with those minor missteps, I can’t help but adore this vibrant moment. Prada red satin pumps were a perfect finishing touch along with her Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany earrings and a ring in platinum with diamonds, tying the whole look together.

Texture Play Done Right
Harris Dickinson opted for mixed textures pairing a black satin double-breasted Prada tuxedo jacket with black mohair trousers. The contrast between the sleek jacket and the softer texture of the trousers brought a fresh take to a classic silhouette, proving that subtle details can make an impact.

Timeless and Tailored
Willem Dafoe stuck to timeless elegance with his black single-breasted wool and mohair Prada tuxedo. Styled with patent leather Prada shoes, the look was simple yet impeccably tailored.
Navy Never Fails
French-Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve added a dash of sophistication with his navy jacquard Prada tuxedo. The rich texture and deep hue stood out beautifully against the sea of black, showing that navy remains an underutilised gem in red-carpet menswear.
Classic
‘The Brutalist’ director Brady Corbet went for a sleek black shawl-collar Prada tuxedo that exuded timeless elegance. While understated, it was the kind of look that never fails to impress.
