The LA premiere of ‘Gladiator II’ brought its leading stars to the spotlight on Monday night, showcasing a mix of nostalgic elegance, surprising choices, and unexpected interpretations of premiere dressing.
Regal in Organza
The woman of the moment, Connie Nielsen, graced the carpet in her third Del Core look of this press tour, following stunning appearances in Paris and London. This pleated organza gown felt like a nostalgic callback to Del Core’s 2021 debut, where Eiza González captivated us in green and white. While this gown wasn’t as dramatic, its sheer skirt and intricate bodice detailing made an impact. Connie has delivered six standout looks during this press tour, making it a perfect 6/6 in my book.

Casual Confusion
Press tours are long, and I get that some might want to take their foot off the gas, but Paul Mescal’s Gucci ensemble felt underwhelming for an LA premiere. It read more “photocall” or “screening at the Soho House New York” than “red carpet,” and while it’s a solid look in itself, it didn’t meet the occasion’s grandeur.

A Modern Gladiator
Surprisingly, it wasn’t the leading man who channeled ‘Gladiator’ energy but racing driver Lewis Hamilton. In a sleeveless Balmain Spring 2025 look that screamed “General Maximus for the modern age,” Lewis delivered a bold and thematic outfit. Tiffany T T1 earrings, a Tiffany Lock bangle and a Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams ring completed his look.

A Louis Vuitton Surprise
If you’re like me, you’d never guess Jurnee Smollett’s blue sequin floral dress was Louis Vuitton. The design lacked the brand’s usual signatures, but it worked in her favour.

Dior Ambassador In The Making, If he’s not one already
I’m not sure if Ethan Herisse is an official Dior ambassador, but every Dior Men’s look he wears turns to gold. The ’Nickel Boys’ actor looked effortlessly handsome and charming in a Dior Men’s Fall 2024 grey striped wool twill bar coat, paired with impeccably tailored grey trousers. I’m absolutely swooning over this. You know grey isn’t my favourite colour, but impeccable tailoring has the power to win me over.
