Tracee Ellis Ross Celebrates Uncles 95th Birthday in McQueen

It’s been a minute since Tracee Ellis Ross lit up our fashion radar with her signature Instagram flair, but her latest post in McQueen reminds us why her style is worth the spotlight.

The ensemble in question hails from Seán McGirr’s debut Fall 2024 collection, a vibrant cable-knit trio consisting of a bralette, frayed skirt, and cardigan in an electric shade of acid green, which you may remember that Zendaya wore during her tenniscore ‘Challengers’ press tour.  For that reason Tracee might have opted to go for the grey, subdued version, but her choice of the bolder hue feels perfectly aligned with her unapologetic style.

Adding to the audacious colour story is a matching Margiela bodysuit, a layering decision that further amplifies the impact, while making the look her own.

Tracee complemented the outfit with a rare vintage gem: the Stephen Sprouse x Louis Vuitton graffiti Speedy bag from 2001. The collaboration, conceived under Marc Jacobs’ creative reign, brings a nostalgic yet edgy element to the look.

For some, the head-to-toe acid green might verge on sensory overload, but Tracee balances it smartly with tan Alexander McQueen pumps, opting for a neutral anchor when an all-green approach might have been tempting. This subtle tonal shift showcases her expert ability to tread the line between maximalism and sophistication.

While Karla Welch, her long-time stylist, is likely behind this bold moment, the outfit feels deeply personal—authentic to Tracee’s signature playful yet polished aesthetic. It’s as though she reached into her wardrobe, handpicked pieces she genuinely loves, and made the outfit entirely her own.

This look is more than a sartorial statement; it’s Tracee’s reminder that fashion is about embracing boldness, self-expression, and the joy of standing out. Acid green never looked so good.
