Pamela Anderson attended the SAG-AFTRA special screening of ‘The Last Showgirl’ at the Pacific Design Center on Sunday in West Hollywood, debuting a fresh new look with her fringe (bangs).
The actress stepped out in a Bottega Veneta melange cashmere cape dress from the Fall 2024 collection, paired with brown Bottega Veneta Canalazzo pumps. While I absolutely appreciate her moving away from her mini white shirt and pencil skirt era and embracing a new silhouette, I can’t help but feel conflicted about this ensemble.
The cape dress itself is beautifully crafted and undeniably chic. But when it comes to this shade of brown, I’m not entirely sold. My immediate thought was that this particular colour would have been far more flattering on someone with brunette or black hair. On Pamela, the earthy tone feels a little too heavy, clashing with her platinum blonde locks rather than complementing them.
Does anyone else agree? Or am I just overthinking it?
I genuinely applaud her for trying something different. A cape dress is a bold choice and a far cry from the polished minimalism she’s been championing recently. It’s dramatic, luxurious, and undeniably high fashion, but it’s also proof that even the most thoughtful looks can miss the mark if the colour doesn’t feel quite right.
This isn’t to say Pamela can’t pull off Bottega Veneta. But perhaps next time, a colour that plays better with her complexion and blonde hair would make all the difference.
