Tiffany Boone attended the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ alongside her co-stars Beyonce and Blue Ivy Carter on Monday evening. Stepping onto the red carpet, Tiffany wore a strapless corset column gown embroidered with multi-coloured glass bead fringes forming a zebra-inspired motif from the Disney x Balmain: The Lion King collection.
The dress is a standout and is undoubtedly a statement piece.
The craftsmanship of this gown is undeniable, and the zebra motif was perfectly aligned perfectly with the movie’s themes. But here’s the thing: the gown begged for someone taller. Tiffany isn’t overwhelmed by the design, but there’s a sense that this dress demanded a bit more height.
It’s not always about towering stature, but some dresses are undeniably engineered for those who can bring a longer silhouette to the table. After spotting the look book image, my initial thought was solidified: this gown would have thrived on someone taller.
That’s not to say Tiffany didn’t wear it well. She certainly brought her own charm to the look. But some designs just don’t translate perfectly without the proportions they were built for, and this was one of those moments for me.
I’m manifesting a second outing on Bozoma Saint John.
