With 30 pairs of leggings in my closet (yes, I counted), I consider myself somewhat of an athleisure expert. I’ve tried hundreds of styles to amass a collection of ’fits that work for my shape and body type—from luxe pairs with price tags over $200 to celeb-approved styles that would give me main-character energy. The Colorfulkoala leggings, a $23 Amazon find, instantly won me over—and are now a staple in my rotation. So how did this pair capture my attention in the first place?
Let’s start with the fact that more than 26,000 Amazon shoppers give these leggings a five-star rating. “I’ve bought six pairs of these now,” writes one shopper. “They’ve become my go-to leggings. The biggest pro is that they are darn near Lululemon quality for the insanely good price.” The positive customer feedback combined with the affordable price tag gave me zero hesitation to hit the checkout button—and within a week they were in my possession.
I eagerly slipped them on and was immediately impressed by the fit. I tend to size up when it comes to leggings because of my athletic build, but customer reviews said they ran true to size, so I opted for my usual medium. The leggings are available in sizes XS to XL, and in capri, 7/8, and full-length versions. I ordered the full-length version in a medium, and it fit me like second skin.
I prefer a high-waist fit when it comes to any bottoms I put on, and that’s especially true with leggings. The seamless waistband holds me in all the right places and doesn’t roll down during workouts or everyday activities. (Seriously, it stays secure even during intense boxing or cycling classes.) There’s some compression on the waist but not so much that it feels suffocating.
Another reason that makes these leggings an MVP is the fabric. Not only is the material buttery soft, but I sweat very easily and can’t stand the feeling of lingering wetness on my legs and thighs. The label says they’re made of 80% nylon and 20% spandex, but trust—they’re 100% moisture-wicking. And for those worried about sheerness, I’m happy to report that these are fully opaque, making them sweat- and squat-proof. After working out, I feel cool and dry and don’t have to worry about an uncomfortable drive home from the gym. (Bless.) The Colorfulkoala leggings also don’t pill after repeated wash-and-dry cycles, which I can’t say for some of the more expensive pairs in my collection.
