Here are all of the names that showed at the Turkey-bound affair that you should be paying attention to.

SUDIETUZ black outfit

After a long and arduous month, the fashion season has come to a close, and Fashion Week Istanbul ensured that it did so with a bang. Taking place in the cultural hub of Turkey, some of the brightest and best in the business took to the hilly streets of the city to showcase their latest collections. And, with the affair being one to remember, we thought it would only be fair if we took some time to round up the best moments from Fashion Week Istanbul, so head below to enjoy the collections of some of the most celebrated names of the past week…

Sudietuz

While most shows are about the clothes, when it came to Sudi Etuz’s latest collection, it really was about the setting. With an all-digital display in which models showcased the designer’s vibrant designs, which included a parade of mini skirts and sequined evening attire, against backdrops hacked from some of the world’s most notable hubs, housed within the historic walls of the Crimean Memorial Church, juxtaposition was rife. But, while setting and premise may have been worlds apart, the room was brought together by a haunting display put on by a beautiful opera singer, draped in one of Etzu’s most dramatic, ruffled designs. Dedicated to her late father, the show was as equally poetic and beautiful as it was exciting.

Describe your collection in just a few words: Shimmering water, refined, bounded.

T.A.G.G

When it came to the latest T.A.G.G collection, dreamed up by the incomparable Gokay Gundogdu, it is fair to say that the designer has the modern, city-bound girls in mind. With elegant tailoring meeting draping, silhouette-enhancing fabric in the latest display a transitional day-to-night wardrobe prevailed, culminating in a collection that paid homage to the modern young woman. We will take one of everything, please!

Describe your collection in just a few words: Minimal aesthetics with cultural elements.

Gokhan Yavas

Housed within the beautiful walls Soho House Istanbul, Gokhan Yavas gave us blended presentations and streetwear done right. With viewers, seated in a catwalk format, cast into darkness upon the show’s commencement, an electric digital display ensued in which angsty models gave us our first look at Yavas’s designs. But, as the short film came to a close, eager onlookers were treated to a trippy reality in which the models and looks emerged from behind the screen, physicalised before their very eyes. As for the clothes themselves, streetwear hoodies branded with the collection’s name, ‘LAST:CALL’, and varsity jackets laced with retro sensibilities met checked bucket hats and exaggerated, oversized puffer jackets, allowing the collection to transcend time boundaries resulting in a timeless collection as rooted in the present as it is the past.

Describe your collection in just a few words: Epic, Harmonious, Timebender.

Dice Kayek

Love it or hate it, the Miu Miu mini skirt has set a precedent. And, a quick trip through Dice Kayek’s showroom is proof of this. While a beautiful shimmer lay across the new collection from the brand, which featured a range of party-ready formalwear which received instant elevation thanks to intricately hand-sewn sequin details, what caught the eye whilst swanning around the space was a miniature school girl-esque skirt complete with a black belt and front slit. Long live the mini skirt!

Describe your collection in just a few words: Joyful, sparking and jubilant.

Nihan Peker

If pure drama was what you were after this season, then you already know that Nihan Peker served it. Taking to the grand and historic interiors of Çırağan Palace, the theme of the show was teased before it had even commenced. And, in keeping with the tone set, the brand treated us to all things over the top as extravagant princess skirts elegantly floated down the marbled palace floors alongside extra wide-brimmed sun sats and floor-sweeping evening gowns. To end the display on a true bang, an all-gold and structured strapless gold gown closed things off, reminding us all that opulent glamour really is the aesthetic of the hour. From now on, we want to see the cast of Bridgerton in Nihan Peker everything.

Describe your collection in just a few words: Golden, timeless, mirror.
