Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is known to have a keen interest in photography. So when she stepped in front of the camera on her 40th birthday, it’s not surprising that the resulting portraits were stunning.
The photos, taken by Italian fashion photographer Paolo Roversi at Kew Gardens in November 2021 to commemorate her birthday on January 9, 2022, are quite beautiful. In floaty, feminine gowns and with her hair loose in waves, the duchess looks relaxed and sophisticated.
You can see the three pictures via the National Portrait Gallery’s Instagram, but if you’d like to view the prints in real life, then make way to jolly old England, where they’ll be displayed at locations that have special meaning for Middleton.
The image in which the Duchess is seated and looking away from the camera will be displayed at St. James the Less in the Berkshire village of Pangbourne from March 22 until April 5, then move to the Reading Museum (close to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where Kate was born in 1982), where it will be from April 7 to June 4. The Middleton family have been parishioners at St. James the Less for “seven generations,” per People.
The color image, of Middleton in a red Alexander McQueen dress, will go on display at the Wardlaw Museum at the University of St. Andrews (where she and William met), from June 13 to September 30.
The one-shoulder dress pic will be on view at Anglesey’s Oriel Môn museum between July 16 and October 2. Anglesey, an island in Wales, is where the royal couple lived while the prince worked as a helicopter rescue pilot.
