In the realm of beauty, Zoë Kravitz is a master of balance. Her delicate ink and ever-evolving hairstyles (there is not a single coif that she cannot rock) offer a certain edge, but she has a tendency toward classic softness as well.

Kravitz has perfected her own contemporary take on Audrey Hepburn’s timeless beauty on more than one occasion, with the Oscars 2022 red carpet featuring an ode to a classic photograph of the iconic actress.

The look began with Kravitz’s confection of a Saint Laurent gown, its pale pink hue and pleated details reminiscent of the season’s more delicate blooms. Add a slicked updo and a sweep of micro-fringe (the work of hairstylist Nikki Nelms), and Norman Parkinson’s 1955 capture of Hepburn in front of a wall of bougainvillea springs instantly to mind.

Makeup artist Nina Park embraced the petaled palette, dusting Kravitz’s lid in a wash of pink matched to lips and cheeks alike. The final touches? A feline flick of liner and a collar of diamonds, both in keeping with the actor’s most current role
