‘The First Lady’ premiered at the DGA Theater Complex on Thursday (April 14) in Los Angeles, California, with the leading actresses Viola Davis (as Michelle Obama), Gillian Anderson (as Eleanor Roosevelt) and Michelle Pfeiffer (as Betty Ford) hitting to the red carpet alongside many of their co-stars.

Viola Davis in bold orange is a glorious feast to my senses.

The actress was looking as radiant as ever wearing a Stella McCartney dress which not only benefited from her Matturi Fine Jewellery earrings designed by Satta Matturi featuring ethically and sustainably sourced natural diamonds from Botswana for RAD x De Beers Group’s, but she also styled her look with an embellished Alexander McQueen clutch.

Gillian Anderson Valentino 'The First Lady' LA Premiere

You were very underwhelmed by Gillian Anderson’s Bernadette look on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week, so she opted to brighten things up in this custom look inspired by the Valentino Pink PP collection Fall 2022 collection.

Yes.  This colour again.

Personally, I’m still enjoying it as the looks we’ve seen have remained varied and interesting.

I would’ve only had a problem with this look, had she opted for the Valentino Garavani Tan-Go platform pumps.

'The First Lady' LA Premiere

If you’re going to be the odd woman out and opt for black on a colourful red carpet, then rock the hell out of your all black look like Michelle Pfeiffer did.

This Celine suit has class, sophistication and is very on brand for the iconic actress.

Black vegan leather Piferi Ursula mesh net d’Orsay pumps and a selection of gold jewels completed her look.

Kristine Froseth 'The First Lady' LA Premiere

Kristine Froseth, who plays the young Betty Ford, was giving me Margot Robbie vibes – both in looks and style – wearing this Chanel iridescent black glitter tweed coat from the Spring 2022 collection.

I love the coat, but the Chanel shoes are very ageing.

Chanel Fine jewels completed the look.

Saniyya Sidney

Saniyya Sidney, who plays Sasha Obama, served up a something different from awards season with this chic shimmering silver Giorgio Armani look.

I adore the tuxedo shirt, and how the shoes matched them in terms of sparkle.

Dakota Fanning, who stars as Betty Ford’s daughter Susan Elizabeth Ford, wore a Rodarte Spring 2022 silk dress.

I wish the straps weren’t so long on this look.

At first I wasn’t a huge fan of the asymmetrical lace insert, but I changed my mind when I realised that the detail below it was ruching.

Gorgeous from the neck up.  I love the bows that she wore in her hair.

Judy Greer The First Lady Premiere

Judy Greer, who stars as Betty Ford’s personal assistant Nancy Howe, wore a floral dress from The Vampire’s Wife which some might say is too informal.

Judy’s style never been flashy, so this is very much on point for her.

Lexi Underwood

Lexi Underwood, who stars as Malia Obama, wore a white blazer gown that felt a little bit too dated and too ageing for the young actress.
