Vanessa Hudgens Took the Sheer Dress Trend to Coachella

There was a moment around 2012 when you couldn’t leave the house in the summer without spotting someone’s attempt to replicate one of Vanessa Hudgens’s Coachella outfits. Between flower crowns, lace dresses, and face gems, it’s not a stretch of the imagination to say Miss Hudgens kept her combat boot on our backs all throughout the mid-2010s festival seasons. She was the It-girl, and by the looks of her latest Coachella outfit, she still is. 

To mark a return to her old stomping grounds, Hollywood’s newest medium wore a chainmail sheer dress by Natalia Fedner over a deep purple cut-out swimsuit by Triangl—perfect for the Indio, California heat. The Tik, Tik… Boom! actor accessorized the look with Jacquie Aiche jewelry, aviator sunglasses, and a raffia cross-body rockstud purse courtesy of Valentino. 

Vanessa Hudgens helped define festival fashion throughout her post-High School Musical years, and at this point, her name is synonymous with Coachella style. She acknowledged her reign, cheekily captioning her post: “Miss V here, Reporting for duty 😉🥳”.

While the look may be more muted by comparison to some of the over-the-top looks we saw on influencers, Hudgens’s take feels reminiscent of her bohemian style in the early aughts and beyond. Simple, casual, and cute seems to be the stylebook Hudgens continues to go back to again and again, and honestly, we would do the exact same.
