Just because beach days are over doesn’t mean the beach wave is going anywhere this fall and winter! If you’re on the hunt for ways to simplify the trend, Karla Valenzuela, Sam Villa Ambassador @kolor.me.karlaa, has a quick and easy way to get the look. She knows that sometimes it is the simple things that bring so much joy – like learning how to create easy beach waves with a flat iron! The key to undone beach waves? Valenzuela says the secret is utilizing very light tension and a technique that massages the curl in instead of forcing the shape. Watch as she creates the shape in this video and check out even more tips to get the look below!

How-To: Flat Iron Beach Waves

The Steps:

  1. Insert a Sam Villa Signature Series Sleekr® Professional Straightening Iron under the section, compress hair and massage it down and under while gently holding ends for a count of 3.  Remove iron while still holding ends.
  2. Insert iron into the dip of the section directly after the part that was just curled, this time compress hair and massage it in the opposite direction, up and away for a count of 3.
  3. Repeat the process rotating back and forth until the ends (making sure to keep light tension to not pull out the curl pattern).  At the ends, close the iron and pull all the way through.
