Lily James gave us a good clue as to who she’d be wearing on the Met Gala 2022 red carpet when she wished Donatella Versace a happy birthday on her Instagram stories, paying homage to the fashion icon.
And sure enough, James showed up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing Versace for this year’s theme, gilded glamour. It’s not the first time the Pam & Tommy actor has worn the luxury brand: She recently stunned in a sheer chiffon pink train, adorned with embroidered flowers, at this year’s Oscars. Let’s not forget the intricate Atelier Versace cutout silver minidress with a bubblegum pink blazer she wore to the Pam & Tommy Los Angeles premiere.
But for the Met Gala, James chose a beaded, see-through Versace with an asymmetrical neckline, high slit, and platform silver heels. “I’m so lucky to wear [the dress],” she said on the red carpet. “It’s so exciting to be here, and to be here with Donatella, who I love so much.”
Take a look at this masterpiece below:
Here’s another look at the dress once James got inside the museum. The temperature was rather chilly in the low 50s, so James said she was excited to get inside and get warm.
