Thom Browne dressed Lizzo, Christine Baranski, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Maisie Williams, Oscar Issac, Gunna, Jordan Roth, Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian for the 2022 Met Gala which took place in New York City on Monday (May 2).

Lizzo was one of the best dressed on the night.  In fact, this is her best ever red carpet look.

This is dressing for the occasion. I love the grandeur of this Thom Browne look from the gold embroidered coat, to the Maasi style choker.

Under her coat lies a corset dress which featured exaggerated hips and cut-outs in the skirt.

She looked like a queen.

Christine Baranski in Thom Browne - 2022 Met Gala

As you know, it takes a lot to impress me, but I gasped when I saw Christine Baranski in this Thom Browne look.

What’s so special about this caped look? Some might be saying.  For me, it’s always been about her aura.

The simplicity, and elegance sold this to me.

She never misses.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in Thom Browne - 2022 Met Gala

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was looking as handsome and as powerful as ever wearing this Thom Brown elongated tailcoat accented with orchids and laurel leaves embroidery.

White bow ties were trending on this red carpet, and I’m enjoying how it’s injecting modernity into menswear at present.

If I could change one thing about this look, I would have made the lining of the tailcoat black.

Maisie Williams in Thom Browne - 2022 Met Gala

Maisie Williams probably doesn’t get the credit she deserves when it comes to her style.

In this Thom Browne look she showcases her feminine style which has a beautiful gothic twist which was amplified by the bleached eyebrows, smokey winged eyeliner, and a black rhinestone rococo headpiece.

Oscar Issac in Thom Browne - 2022 Met Gala

Regular readers will know that Oscar Issac loves Thom Browne.

His last look back in March featured a pleated skirt, and on this occasion he opted to wear a white tie and tails trompe l’oeil tailored dress.

It’s so simple, yet so creative with the trompe l’oeil effect.

The style reminded me of the Pakistani kameez kurta.

Gunna in Thom Browne - 2022 Met Gala

There were many intriguing looks from Thom Browne at this event, but Gunna’s stayed truest to the brand’s roots.

The gold bullion and beaded thorn embroidered guided this look in the direction of the theme.

Jordan Roth

Jordan Roth swapped his dramatic colourful red carpet looks, for a black dramatic red carpet look.

Thom Browne’s creations never fail to inspire, and this look has so many intriguing elements.

Like Blake Lively (my forever reference at this Gala), Jordan’s look also had a reveal.

He started off with a cocoon coat which transformed into a beautiful tuxedo bustle dress.

And for the third part, the skirt was removed to reveal a more streamline silhouette.

All of these stages are part of the unique expression of his authentic self.

The hair and makeup sold the brilliance of this look.

Travis Barker is a great fit for Thom Browne.  I am always in favour of seeing someone known for a grunge aesthetic respect the occasion and present a look that doesn’t see them lose their identity.

When it comes to Kourtney Kardashian, I just don’t understand what is going on here.

It’s supposed to be a deconstructed interpretation of Travis’ look, but my first thought was that she looks like she’s bandaged from a BBL or hip replacement surgery.

Not her finest moment.

I wish she would bring her own style back, instead of trying to incorporate Travis style into her wardrobe, which isn’t really working out for her.
